Invitation For Tenders Two Stage

1. Funding Details

The above named client intends to use part of the proceeds of a loan from/grant administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) towards the cost of the above named contract(s).

Additional financing information:
Co-financing for the Project will be provided by the European Investment Bank ("EIB") in the amount of EUR 126 Million and by EU Neighbourhood Investment Facility ("NIF") under a grant in the amount of EUR 30 Million.

2. Information on the Procurement Exercise

Contracts will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and are open for participation for firms from any country, unless otherwise specified in the procurement documents.

3. Other Information
The Scope of Works for this Contract has two Sections. Works Section 1 contains: (i) to design and construct the substantial in-situ wastewater plant of capacity 20,000 m3/d. A number of elements of the Stage 1 will be sized to facilitate the expansion of the WWTP to treat the Stage 2 and Stage 3 design capacity of 40,000 and 80,000 m3/d. Furthermore, certain treatment units and buildings shall be designed and constructed considering both the existing plants and the new plant capacity, (ii) to provide Operation and Maintenance Training for the Employer’s Staff and supervise the operation and maintenance of the WWTP during the Defects Notification Period.
Works to be carried out within Section 2 is to hydraulically upgrade the existing Old Kohafa WWTP from 60,000 to 90,000 m3/d, in addition to limited rehabilitation and construction for certain units. For Works Section 1, the Contractor shall start construction phase after taking over of Works Section 1 works and complete the upgrading and rehabilitation works within eight (8) months followed by Defects Notification Period of twelve (12) months.
