1. Funding Details

The above named client intends to use part of the proceeds of a loan from/grant administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) towards the cost of the above named contract(s).

Additional financing information:
After completing due diligence for the proposed investments in 2019, the EBRD and the Government of Serbia signed a Loan Agreement on 19 December 2019 in the amount of EUR 15 million for financing the first phase of primary irrigation infrastructure in the regions of Negotin (Eastern Serbia) and Svilajnac (Central Serbia). Investments will be implemented by Public Water Management Company (“PWMC”) Srbijavode that operates under the MAFWM.

2. Information on the Procurement Exercise

Contracts will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and are open for participation for firms from any country, unless otherwise specified in the procurement documents.

The type of contract and the procurement method is stated above. A full description of the procurement exercise is available within the documentation and is available free of charge in ECEPP.

The documentation will include such information as: detailed technical and financial requirements; any information on lots; the expected outcome; eligibility and qualification requirements; contract start date; planned contract duration; any response requirements; any other relevant information.

3. Other Information
The Negotin Plains are located in the eastern part of Serbia at the borders with Bulgaria and Romania downstream of the hydroelectric dam Djerdap on the Danube River. The total agricultural area is over 15,000 ha and its natural boundaries to the north and the east are the rivers Danube and Timok and to the south and the west the surrounding low hills.
Svilajnac is located on both sides of the Resava River Central Serbia. It has a flat topography with a total area of 1,100 ha on both banks of the river. The main occupation of the local population is agriculture. There is a long-term tradition in agriculture in the area and the largest agricultural school in Serbia is located in Svilajnac.
