3. Other Information
The ongoing war on Ukraine has prompted a re-assessment of priorities following the redirection of traffic to the land routes in western parts of Ukraine connecting to the EU. There is an urgent need to improve the transport and operational condition of the M-09 road (Ternopil - Lviv - Rava-Ruska road section between Lviv and Rava-Ruska on the way to Polish-Ukrainian border), which is the main route connecting Lviv to Warsaw and part of the TEN-T corridor network, by performing capital repairs with critical road safety improvements and climate adaptation measures. The Project addresses the immediate priorities of developing alternative transport routes to facilitate export and import logistics (including for agricultural exports and critical imports) in line with the Solidarity Lanes initiative and in response to the war on Ukraine.
