2. Information on the Project

Project Description:
Vitebsk Regional Communal Unitary Enterprise of Water Supply and Sewerage System "œVitebskoblvodokanal" intends using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the "EBRD" or "Bank") and co-financing grant contributions from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (the "SIDA"), for a project aimed for reconstruction and modernisation of the existing wastewater treatment facilities in the City of Orsha to ensure compliance with the national and EU standards for effluent quality treatment. Orsha Wastewater Project has been signed under the EBRD Belarus Water Sector Framework, Phase 2.

The proposed Project, which has a total estimated cost of EUR 9 million equivalent, will require the procurement of the following remaining contracts (there is a ongoing procurement of other components):

- Upgrade of the Wastewater Treatment Plant;
- Rehabilitation of sewers;
- Reconstruction of sewage pumping stations;
- Modernisation of water intakes "Orshitsa" and "Southern";
- Supply of maintenance and repair equipment;
- Supply of laboratory equipment.

Contracts will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and are open for participation for firms from any country, unless otherwise specified in the procurement documents.
