2. Information on the Project

Project Description:
Chernivtsiteplokomunenergo Communal Enterprise, a municipal company wholly owned by the City of Chernivtsi, intends using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank), the Clean Technology Fund (the Fund) and a grant from the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P) for a project aimed at reducing energy losses, reducing gas and electricity consumption and improving the quality of service of the heat and hot-water supply system in the City of Chernivtsi. The proposed project, which had initial total estimated cost of EUR 16 million equivalent will require the procurement of the following remaining goods, works and services:

- Rehabilitation and modernisation of large and small boiler houses (installation of new burners and boilers control systems)
- Rehabilitation and modernisation of large boiler houses (installation of new Gas Boilers, Chemical Water Treatment Systems, Pumps and Pumps VSDs)
- Biofuel boiler plant
- Dispatching and monitoring system (SCADA including automation of small boiler houses and Central Operation Unit)

The implementation of other contracts is ongoing.

Contracts will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and are open for participation for firms from any country, unless otherwise specified in the procurement documents.
