1. Funding Details

The above named client intends to use part of the proceeds of a loan from/grant administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) towards the cost of the above named project.

Additional financing information:
Project's total investment cost of KZT 7,800 million (EUR 15.6 million) is financed by the EBRD loan of KZT 4,060 million (EUR 8.1 million) and co-financed by the investment grant from the East-Kazakhstan Oblast Akimat or Ust-Kamenogorsk City Akimat of KZT 3,740 million (EUR 7.5 million). The Project envisages EUR 1.09 million TC support for (i) Procurement and Implementation Support, (ii) Capacity Building and Corporate Development and (iii) Green City Action Plan for the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk.

2. Information on the Project

Project Description:
The Project for modernisation of the solid waste management ("SWM") system in Ust-Kamenogorsk includes the following priority components: (i) construction of a new sanitary landfill, compliant with EU standards, including procurement of machinery and equipment for landfill operations; (ii) construction of a mechanical solid waste treatment facility; (iii) construction of a biological solid waste treatment facility; (iv) rehabilitation of the waste collection points in Ust-Kamenogorsk; and (v) closure and remediation of the existing landfill.

3. Other Information

Loan funded contracts for construction of the new landfill and mechanical and biological treatment facility will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and are open for participation for firms from any country, unless otherwise specified in the procurement documents. Contracts financed by the investment grant from the East-Kazakhstan Oblast Akimat or Ust-Kamenogorsk City Akimat will be procured in line with state procurement rules.

Procurement for Loan funded components under this project will be conducted using the EBRD Client E-Procurement Portal (ECEPP). If you intend to participate in any procurement under this project, please ensure that you have registered in ECEPP (https://ecepp.ebrd.com). Registered entities will be notified directly when any procurement opportunities are published.
