1. Funding Details
The above named client intends to use part of the proceeds of a loan from/grant administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) towards the cost of the above named project.

EIB: EUR 240 million
GOE: EUR 60 million
EBRD additionally mobilises a grant of EUR 3,9 million.
2. Information on the Project
Project Description:
The rehabilitation of Cairo Metro Line 2 (CML2 ) will provide for i) upgrade/replacement of signalling, safety, power, control & electromechanical systems and civil works necessary for an operational headway of 105 seconds (from the current 160 seconds); and ii) up grade for the existing rolling stock to include updated on-board communication systems (45 train sets). The Project is also expected to include innovative features such as a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) which is expected to improve performance and reliability
