1. Funding Details

The above named client intends to use part of the proceeds of a loan from/grant administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) towards the cost of the above named project.

Additional financing information:
EBRD loan up to EUR 252,000,000 in Kazakh tenge equivalent with co-financing of the remaining part of the project costs potentially by ADB and/or DBK.

2. Information on the Project

Project Description:
EBRD intends to provide financing for comprehensive modernisation of the existing Combined Heat and Power Plant 2 (CHP-2), one of the three CHPs providing electricity and heat to the city of Almaty, with full replacement of coal by natural gas as a primary fuel in order to reduce CO2 emissions and improve air quality in the city.
