General Procurement Notice

1. Funding Details

The above named client intends to use part of the proceeds of a loan from/grant administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) towards the cost of the above named project.

Additional financing information:
A sovereign-guaranteed loan of up to KZT 15.9 billion (equivalent to EUR 31.8 million) to be provided to Karaganda Su (the “Company”), water and wastewater company in the city of Karaganda (the “City”).

2. Information on the Project

Project Description:
The Project is part of a nationwide WWTPs modernisation programme initiated by the Government of Kazakhstan in 2019. The Project’s Priority Investment Programme (the “PIP”) will include the reconstruction of the existing or construction of a new Wastewater Treatment Plant (“WWTP”) with an average capacity of 100,000 m3/day and a maximum capacity of 160,000 m3/day in Karaganda and rehabilitation of the associated wastewater (“WW”) treatment infrastructure. The Project should enable the Company to treat the City’s wastewater in line with the local and European Union environmental standards. The final technical solution for Karaganda will be determined during the local feasibility study.
