3. Other Information
Shiroke-Zogaj road section is part of the Shkoder – NME Border Road and it is the sole axis that connects the city of Shkodra with the area of Shiroke and Zogaj and, once the Works will be completed, will reach the border with Montenegro.
During the last years, this road faced a relevant increase of traffic users, especially during the summer season, due to the dramatic increase of local and international tourists, enjoying the natural amenities along Shkodra Lake and the various touristic attractions of this environmentally protected area. Therefore, the rehabilitation/reconstruction of the above-mentioned road section has become a priority issue, because absolutely necessary.
