1. Funding Details

The above named client intends to use part of the proceeds of a loan from/grant administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) towards the cost of the above named project.

Additional financing information:
The facility will consist of a sub-sovereign loan to the City in the amount of up to EUR 68.2 million, provided in three tranches:

• Tranche I of up to EUR 16.1 million will be committed at signing;
• Tranche II of up to EUR 29.1 million (uncommitted), and
• Tranche III of up to EUR 23.0 million (uncommitted).

The Project is also expected to be complemented by an investment grant of up to EUR 1.9 million.

2. Information on the Project

Project Description:
The Project envisages the extension and upgrading of three main urban road links (of ca. 8.5km) in the city of Chisinau: (i) Mircea cel Batran avenue; (ii) Industriala street; and (iii) Mesager street. It aims to provide the City with the key enabling infrastructure to: (i) support the zonal urban development plans in all three areas, as well as, enhance industrial and economic development; and (ii) promote sustainable mobility to benefit from off-loading of traffic from other streets, through improved traffic management and integration of facilities for sustainable mobility. The Project will also support expansion of trolleybus and cycling networks, and the potential to enable nature positive measures, through promotion of urban biodiversity through nature-inclusive measures, creation of wetland parks and walks.

Contracts will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and are open for participation for firms from any country, unless otherwise specified in the procurement documents.
