1. Funding Details
The above named client intends to use part of the proceeds of a loan from/grant administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) towards the cost of the above named project.
Additional financing information:
A loan of up to EUR 7,600,000.00 provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to the Borrower, on-lent to three cities for the benefit of three water companies in the cities of (1) Shopokov; (2) Talas; and (3) Kemin.
The Sub-projects will be co-financed by up to EUR 7,600,000.00 in investment grants from EBRD Shareholder Special Fund.
The TC Support of EUR 1,800,000.00 in also included in the investment plan.
2. Information on the Project
Project Description:
1. The Beneficiary of financing is the Municipal Enterprise Shopokov City Improvement Utility (the Shopokov water company), which is fully owned by the municipality of Shopokov and provides drinking water supply and wastewater treatment services in the city of Shopokov. As a result of the investment project, the population connected to the piped drinking water is expected to increase from the current 8,721 to 12,240 people in the city of Shopokov.
2. The Beneficiary of financing is the Municipal Enterprise Kemin Vodokanal (the Kemin water company), which is fully owned by the municipality of Kemin and provides drinking water supply and limited wastewater treatment services in the city of Kemin. As a result of the investment project, the population connected to the piped drinking water is expected to increase from the current 7,338 to 12,339 people in the city of Kemin.
3. The Beneficiary of financing is the Municipal Enterprise Talas Taza-Suu (the Talas water company), which is fully owned by the municipality of Talas and provides drinking water supply and limited wastewater treatment services in the city of Talas. As a result of the investment project, the population connected to the wastewater services is expected to increase from the current 9,309 to 12,700 people in the city of Talas.

3. Other Information
The Project will address water infrastructure needs in the Cities of Talas, Kemin, and Shopokov. The Project will include the rehabilitation and extension of water supply systems, which will involve the construction of wells, pump stations, water reservoirs, and the rehabilitation and construction of water supply networks. Additionally, the introduction of water metering systems and the modernization of operational and maintenance equipment will be implemented. The project will also focus on the development of wastewater networks and wastewater treatment facilities in Talas.
Key procurement activities for the project will encompass various components related to water supply, wastewater management, specialized vehicles, and consultant services for the selected cities.
Contracts will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and are open for participation for firms from any country, unless otherwise specified in the procurement documents.
