Invitation For Prequalification

The above named client, intends to use part of the proceeds of a loan from/grant administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) for the above named project. Additional financing details are as follows:

The Government of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan represented by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Water Authority of Jordan has received the loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) towards the cost of implementing the West Irbid Wastewater Project, and intends using part of the proceeds of this loan towards the cost of construction of Collection Systems and Related Gravity Trunk Lines including House Connections, for various towns located in West Irbid, where the flow generated from these towns will flow to a distend pumping station, which will eventually transfer the collected flow to be treated at Wadi Al Arab Wastewater Treatment Plant. The implementation agency of the Project is the Water Authority of Jordan.

Contracts will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules.


Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from/ grant administered by the Bank and will be open to firms from any country.


The client intends to prequalify firms and joint ventures to tender for the above mentioned contract, which includes the following:

- Lot 2 : Construction of Collection Systems and Related Gravity Trunk Lines for the Towns of Kufr Asad, Dougara, and Qumm.

- Lot 3 : Construction of Collection Systems and Related Gravity Trunk Lines for the Towns of Qumaym, Jamha, and Kufr An.

- Lot 4 : Construction of Collection Systems and Related Gravity Trunk Lines for the Towns of Zahar, Jijin, and Kufr Rehta.

- Lot 5 :Construction of Collection Systems and Related Gravity Trunk Lines for the Towns of Soum and Kufr Youba.

- Lot 6 : Construction of Collection Systems and Related Gravity Trunk Lines for the Towns of Beit Yafa, Ham, and Natifa


Highlights of items included in these packages (contracts) are the following:
• Construction of gravity trunk lines will be mostly in wadis, with pipe diameters between (200 - 700) mm of HDPE or uPVC or GRP material.
• Construction of sewage networks with pipe diameters between (200-500) mm of HDPE or uPVC or GRP material.
• Construction of house connections of 150 mm pipe diameter of HDPE or uPVC material.


The contract is expected to start on 01/07/2020 and last about 18 - 22 months .

This opportunity is divided into 5 lots.
Tenderers may bid for a maximum of 5 lots.

This prequalification exercise will be conducted by e-procurement using the EBRD Client E-Procurement Portal (ECEPP). The proceeds of the loan from/ grant administered by the Bank will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law or official regulation of the Client's country.
