1. Funding Details

The above named client intends to use part of the proceeds of a loan from/grant administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) towards the cost of the above named contract(s).

Additional financing information:
State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan (hereafter SCEEP) intends to use Grants from the Environmental Remediation Account for Central Asia (ERA), administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development towards the cost of the Remediation of Former Uranium Legacy Sites in Yangiabad and Charkesar Project.

2. Information on the Procurement Exercise

Contracts will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and are open for participation for firms from any country, unless otherwise specified in the procurement documents.

The type of contract and the procurement method is stated above. A full description of the procurement exercise is available within the documentation and is available free of charge in ECEPP.

The documentation will include such information as: detailed technical and financial requirements; any information on lots; the expected outcome; eligibility and qualification requirements; contract start date; planned contract duration; any response requirements; any other relevant information.

3. Other Information
The project will involve activities to support remediation works in Yangiabad and Charkesar. In particular this includes the closure of shafts, adits and sinkholes, the demolition of mining facilities and processing buildings, the covering and/or relocation of waste rock dumps as well as the construction of river bank protections and diversion channels. This General Procurement Notice is released to facilitate launch of the following procurement activities:
1. Remediation Works in Yangiabad and Charkesar-2.
Tendering of above contract is expected to begin in July, 2022 following EBRD’s Procurement Policies and Rule (latest revision).
The proceeds of the loan from, or Grant administered by, the Bank will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, of for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law or official regulation of the Client's country.
Tendering for this project will be conducted by e-procurement using the EBRD Client E-Procurement Portal (ECEPP).
